Are You Ready to Make a Change?
I am here to help You! But first, I'd like you to know a little bit about me...
I have wanted to help people for as long as I could remember. I truly believe that change can happen for anyone if you are willing to work hard and not give up, because anything worth having is worth working for. The one thing that I want all my clients to remember that you are worthy of being, and it is not just when things are going great for you but all of the time. My goal in therapy sessions is to help create a trusted and caring partnership to help each client become the best version of themselves possible. In order to make this goal a reality, we must work together using empathy, compassion, and acceptance, as the guiding forces.
Over the last few years, I've gained a deep appreciation for working with individuals and couples from all age groups, from adolescents to older adults. I love to introduce new perspectives on handling life's difficulties, including but not limited to communication styles, relationship dynamics, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, and self-love/self-worth. I enjoy working with music and writing prompts in sessions to further express thoughts and feelings because sometimes emotions are just too big to put into a few words.
Fun Facts: I like to create poetry and songs in my spare time. I am also working to finish a novel that I started writing a few years ago. I think playing games with the whole family is a good way to spend a rainy day or decompress from a hard day.
Education & Training: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor registered with the Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners. I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Guidance with a Concentration in Clinical Mental Health. I also have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the Louisiana Tech University.
